A Question for You

I am starting something new on the blog. Now, several times a week, I will post a question that I am currently struggling with and need some other opinions on. I would love it if you would let me know what you think!

Is there such a thing as a "good college try"?

Giving a good college try is so different from other kinds of tries. I'm a freshman too, and a good college try is much lower than my normal standard. College, in general terms, is about drinking, friends, drinking, etc. A good college try means nothing. A good try means SO much more. A good try for me is doing my best, not procrastinating (as much) and being the best I can be. A college try means nothing, a try means way more.

Thanks for your comment Ali! I find it interesting that you feel that a "good college try" means not really trying. I always thought that a "good college try" simply means that you have no idea how to complete something, but you give it your best. That way if you fail, you at least gave it a good college try--and that that is somehow good enough. So, now we have two questions, what is a "good college try"? And, can it take the place of success?
